An eerie gothic tale for 2 voices and synthesizers performed by dynamic vocalists Ryoko Aoki and James Hullick
娘は窓から月を見つめ、母は森からの呼び声を聞く。やがて母は森へと歩み、そこで銀の狐に出会い、 厳しい真実と恐ろしい試練を知ることになる。この作品は母役の青木涼子と銀の狐役のジェイムス・ ハリックが歌い、日本の伝統的な能を21世紀の音響パフォーマンスの文脈で再解釈。楽器はプリレコー ディングされたシンセサイザーを使用し、クアドロフォニックサウンドで配置されたスピーカーから 響く。
A young daughter stares at the moon through her window. Her mother hears a calling from the forest. In time the mother wanders into the forest to answer the call: there to find a wondrous silver fox. There the mother learns a difficult truth and a horrific challenge she must face. The work is sung by Ryoko Aoki (Mother) and James Hullick (The Silver Fox). The story references traditional Japanese Noh, but in the context of 21st century sonic performance. The instrumentation for the work is pre-recorded synthesizers spatialised in quadrophonic sound and other speakers in the performance space.
