Hullick has built robotic sound machines that represent some other futurist pathway born from the industrial revolution: spinning bowls and little motors activating sounds.
This project reflects on the ways that machine culture has brushed against the Australian landscape, often in direct dissonance to nature herself. It’s a dry continent – and the sounds offered here reflect the dryness, busted metal gadgetry and rusty outback gates.
