YOSHU KAMEI
2nd violin
Yoshu Kamei started his activities mainly in contemporary works in the 2000s. He studied contemporary technique of violin music and free improvisation at the Royal Conservatory of Liege in Belgium. After returning to Japan, he continued to play contemporary works as a speciality of this field. He has performed works with Toshio Hosokawa, Helmut Lachenmann, Joji Yuasa and many other contemporary composers of the world, and he was also invited to play by the Takefu International Music Festival and many chamber music concerts. He has also continued to pursue a career as a Shakuhachi player for several years.
