Rachael Sooji Kim is a Naarm-based, electroacoustic practitioner whose process-driven approach merges improvisation, collaboration, and experimentation. In 2024, she had 3 releases through ‘Modulisme’ (France), Shame File Music, and Eternal Music, investigating electroacoustic collaborations and synthesizer improvisations. 

Sooji is one-third of composer collective ‘STATHIS//DAVEY//KIM’, a Melbourne based collective of three female electroacoustic composers. Their sound is presented in multi-channel diffusion, often in surprising contexts, inviting the listener to engage with sound and site in unexpected ways and have been commissioned for Mona Foma and Now or Never Festivals (2020-2023)

Sooji is also one-sixth of new, electroacoustic ensemble ‘Golden Sands’ a group of composers championing the work of electro-acoustic and experimental femme artists.
