Sensible Serenades

Naarm-based independent label Sensible Antixx Records presents a special live music showcase on April 25 at Jolted Arts Space, bringing together three of Australia’s most compelling emerging and established voices. Headlined by acclaimed singer-songwriter Ainslie Wills, the evening will also feature performances from rising artists Caisha Sprout and Rupert Bullard, offering audiences an intimate night of thoughtful song-writing and captivating live performance.

Set within the unique creative environment of Jolted Arts, the show promises a warm, immersive atmosphere where audiences can experience powerful storytelling, genre-blurring sounds, and some of the most exciting voices in contemporary Australian music.

ABOUT THE ARTISTS

Ainslie Wills is a mother, musician and mentor who believes deeply in the
transformative power of music.
Across her career, she has earned a reputation for crafting songs that are both musically rich and emotionally resonant. Her most recent single, Surrender, documents her wobbly—and wondrous—transition into motherhood, capturing the tension and tenderness of reconciling both mother and artist.

Influenced by the likes of Tori Amos, Jeff Buckley, Joni Mitchell and Feist, Ainslie has long since emerged as an artist with her own distinctive voice. She blends genres effortlessly, evoking vivid atmospheres through melody, thoughtful chord choices and honest  lyricism.

Among her recent achievements, she penned a song for Peter Garrett’s True North record and has shared stages with Leon Bridges, Lianne La Havas, Bernard Fanning, Clare Bowditch and Tom Chaplin (UK).

Melbourne-based artist Caisha Sprout weaves her Indian heritage in a blend of Blues, Roots and Soul. Her songs have earned Triple J, Double J, and Radio One India airplay, with Misery Don’t Want Bad Company gaining national rotation. Having performed from Federation Square to Sofar Sounds in Dubai and India, Caisha’s music invites audiences to reconnect with sound and the emotional core of music itself.

Rupert Bullard is an emerging, independent folk artist from Lutruwita/Tasmania. Recently home from his first UK/IRE tour, his work blends folk sensibilities with shades of country and blues, drawing deeply from the rugged landscapes of his island home.

At just 18 years old, Rupert has recently been announced as Emerging Artist of the Year at Port Fairy Folk Festival, as well as Youth Artist of the Year (Folk Alliance). His genuine stage presence and resonant song-writing have seen him marked as a rising and triumphant voice in Australian music. His releases have led to sold-out national headline shows, appearances at festivals across the country, and performances alongside artists including Ash Grunwald and The Slingers. In a sleepy corner of Lutruwita/Tasmania, Rupert is currently crafting his debut album with acclaimed producer John Castle (Vance Joy, Paul Kelly).
