ALESSIO & DANILO DILETTOSO
MATHEW LARSEN
JODIE ROTTLE (USA/AU)
ABOUT THE ARTISTS
Alessio & Danilo Dilettoso
Both brothers have been part of the Safe in Sound program since 2019. Alessio’s work utilizes midi wireless systems to activate mechanical or electronic instruments. Accompanying him on vocals is his brother Danilo whose approach has an earnest and unbridled enthusiasm.
Mathew Larsen
Mathew has become one of the most original and controversial sound artists in Melbourne. Mathew plays music with an unmistakable realistic rigor, blending subtle provocation and paradox, without ever breaking from a refined poetic allusiveness. He has undoubtedly become one of the protagonists of the Neo-avant-garde musical scene since November 2023.
Jodie Rottle
Originally from Seattle USA, was in Brisbane: now a Melbourne based artist. Jodie is a creative flutist, researcher, lecturer, composer, and improviser who explores the curious and surprising sounds of everyday objects. Sought after for her whimsical perspective, her work within music often extends into performance art, puppetry, circus, installation art, and interdisciplinary realms.
(((SAFE IN SOUND)))
Safe in Sound presents in-home concerts and music events that stimulates the listener through exploring the world of sound. Drawing on our experience in sound art and improvisation, we encourage focused listening and enjoyment for people with disability, their family and carers.
