EVGENY CHEBYKIN

Evgeny was born in Moldova, former republic of the USSR, into a family of professional musicians. He received his education at The Purcell School of Music and later The Royal Academy of Music, where he was recipient of the coveted Dennis Brain Prize.
Whilst still at the Royal Academy, Evgeny was invited to take up Principal Horn positions with The London Sinfonietta and The Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestras, posts which he held for a number of years, resulting in several Gramophone Award winning recordings and live broadcasts.
Recognised as one of most versatile players in Britain and abroad, Evgeny has also appeared on a number of soundtracks including the Harry Potter series, West End shows such as Les Miz, Love Never Dies, Joseph and The Lion King as well as guest appearances with Gothenburg Symphony, The Royal Philharmonic, tours with Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, Andrea Bocelli and on one unforgettable occasion being a soloist in a concerto conducted by the late, great Sir Charles Mackerras .
Closer to home, for the last three years Evgeny could be heard from the pit of Melbourne’s Art Centre playing with Orchestra Victoria, including an unprecedented run of four consecutive Ring Cycles by Wagner, which he is pleased to have survived.
