ANNALEE KOERNIG

Annalee Koernig has curated for MIUC since 2006, worked as a producer for the Flash Forward series for Heavy Machinery Records, and volunteered as a Chairperson for the Avant-Garde/Experimental category for the annual Music Victoria Awards from 2013 – 2022. 

She has guest-curated programs for other organisations, including Articulating Space, MIBEM, the Melbourne International Jazz Festival for the “Overground” program, and Liquid Architecture. 

Annalee was also the co-director of the Avant-Noise-Breakcore collective Black Lotus, which operated from 2003 to 2008. The collective held many events utilising various spaces in and around Melbourne, from established venues to outdoor events. 

Her weekly experimental music series, Stutter, from 2007 to 2012, became legendary for its galvanising force of making Melbourne a global centre of adventurous sonic practice. 

Annalee hosts ‘Imitating A Nightingale’, a weekly experimental radio program on 3CR AM.
