ALISA CHU
Alisa joined The Amplified Elephants in 2022 with her first full The Amplified Elephants show being Hagoromo with Ryoko Aoki.
The show was released as an album in 2023 (Hagoromo, Hullick Studios Label). Alisa contributes to The Amplified Elephants sonically through a range of instruments: synthesizers, voice, percussion, keyboards and electronic music making.
In 2023 Alisa performed with The Amplified Elephants in FUSE Festival and the Eighty-Six Festival. For these festivals The Amplified Elephants presented their latest show Forest of Threads which will be released as an album in 2024.
Separately to The Amplified Elephants, Alisa performed drum kit with sound art legend Brendan Walls (Tasmania) in the Safe in Sound Festival 2023.
Prior to her work with The Amplified Elephants, Alisa was a member of the Sonic Adventurers Collective and created a range of audio and video works with them, some of which can be heard on the Sonic Adventurers Collective The Red Line album (Hullick Studios 2022). Before Alisa started to work with JOLT Arts she was the vocalist with the Northcote Rebels indie rock band.
