OTOMO YOSHIHIDE
Otomo Yoshihide is one of Japan’s true artistic visionaries. His ground breaking work as part of the lauded Ground Zero, set the stage for a life in music that has operated between film composition, free jazz, noise and restless experimentation. Yoshihide’s work is as iconic as it is profound, he holds an utterly unique position in the contemporary Japanese music landscape.
MORISHIGE + LYALL (JPN)
TOMOMI ADACHI
Otomo is joined on the bill by fellow experimentalist Tomomi Adachi, whose work operates between experimental sound, instrument creation and performance based methodologies. This is a dynamic vocal work, sitting at the fringes of contemporary practice. Adachi’s impact on international improvised music is not to be underestimated and it makes for a remarkable night to have Adachi on the bill.
